Legacy Healthcare Initiative was founded to help close the healthcare gap and expand access to quality, equitable care in underserved communities around the world.

The inspiration behind LHI began with a deeply personal experience. After returning to the Democratic Republic of Congo for the first time in 18 years, founder Kingole Patrick Tshilenge witnessed firsthand the profound disparities in access to essential, lifesaving healthcare services. Communities were struggling without the resources, equipment, and support needed to deliver even the most basic care. That moment became the catalyst for a long-term commitment to create meaningful and lasting change.

Drawing on a professional background in Quality Systems and Biomedical Engineering, LHI was established to develop innovative, reliable, and community-centered healthcare solutions. The organization focuses on strengthening health systems, expanding access to essential services, and empowering local providers and communities with the tools, knowledge, and partnerships they need to thrive.

Through collaboration, innovation, and a focus on sustainable impact, LHI works to ensure that every person—regardless of where they live—has the opportunity to receive safe, dignified, and high-quality healthcare.
